DISCIPLINE

DISCIPLINE

Discipline is often viewed in two perspectives: being hardworking and doing the right things at the right times and the ability to comport self in a favourable and respectful disposition towards others, especially elders. Hence, who is a disciplined student and what are the outcomes of discipline?

As a person migrating from one environment to another or a widely travelled fellow, it is always painful to find out that most students (Teens) are undisciplined and totally lack simple respect and courtesy.  Discipline is an intrinsic motivation in a person to control his or herself even when it is not convenient to do so while respect is treating others the way you like others to treat you.

It really baffles me to see a lot of teenagers lacking these essential behavioural norms and values. Some feel that being rude to their teachers and other adults give them fame among their peers. You will find out that most disrespectful youths find it difficult to make it to their expected great heights in life. Discipline is like an engine in a car, once you lack it, you cannot drive to success in life.

Learn from these wise sayings on discipline and respect:

‘‘Discipline is the soul of an army. It makes small numbers formidable; procures success to the weak, and esteem to all.   ’’

George Washington

A disciplined mind leads to happiness, and an undisciplined mind leads to suffering. ’’
