HARD WORK PAYS

HARD WORK PAYS

These popular saying a very TRUE to life, ‘Hard work pays,’ ‘No pains, no gains.’ My fellow students out there, I want us to remember that what a man sows, he will sure reap, hence, the amount of time your invest reading while others are playing will sure pay off. They must surely come back to you as SUCCESS.

I listened to one of my teachers with keen interest when he said ‘I want to grow or plant groundnuts at a commercial rate this year.’ I wasn’t interested in the groundnut nor his passion for farming but my mind went straight to the definite result or outcome that will follow if he truly puts his saying into practice. Learners, it is not enough to say I want straight ‘A’s in my Cambridge Checkpoint/I.G.C.S.E or WASSCE, we need to work towards our goals.

I will leave us with an assignment to ask those who scored over 300 marks at the last U.T.M.E as published in the last week’s Teen Trust, whether they got their scores by chance, mere day-dreaming/wishes or by academic guesswork. I am pretty sure that 99.9 percent of their answers will be HARDWORK.

I gathered from a reliable source that one of our Central Bank past governors said he was known as a bookworm in his school days. He said he reads for extra four to eight hours while others were enjoying their warm beds. Hence, what you sow, you will surely read.

SEE THESE:

  • Study and understand your body system: Can you read at night? If yes, get started.
  • Do you enjoy reading while others are shouting outside your house or hostel? Then draw a favourable and workable day time reading time-table.
  • Are you a voracious reader of novels? Then start writing yours.

Finally, start working towards better grades today, HARD WORK PAYS.
